Fern Steiner
Fern Steiner, of San Diego, was appointed to the California Water Commission in December of 2020, and has served as Commission Chair since 2024. Steiner has been an Attorney at Fern Steiner Law, APC since 2024. She was an attorney at Smith, Steiner, Vanderpool, APC from1987 to 2024, and a Shareholder there from 1993 to 2024. She was an Attorney at Richard D. Prochazka, APC from 1984 to 1987, and an Attorney at Karmel and Rosenfeld from 1977 to 1984. Steiner is a trustee for San Diego Youth Services. She also served as director of the Metropolitan Water District from 2009 to 2019, and as a director of the San Diego County Water Authority from 2003 to 2025. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from John Marshall Law School.
