Anja Raudabaugh
Anja Raudabaugh has led Western United Dairies (WUD) for over a decade. Dairy is the #1 commodity in California and California is a global food producing powerhouse. Dairy farming serves the state’s local nutrition programs and grows economic prosperity in rural communities.
Recently, Anja co-developed Landflex with the Department of Water Resources, the single largest water savings program in the history of western water. Landflex worked directly with farmers to voluntarily surrender their use of overdrafted groundwater immediately and forever, providing strategic economic certainty in the face of drought or flood. WUD’s strategic direction on water continues to be community focused for water quality and quantity.
In her earlier years, Anja worked for the U.S. House Agricultural Committee, the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, and U.S. Congressman Doug Ose. She helped author two farm bills and the largest specialty crop bill still in history (Specialty Crop Competitiveness Act). A biochemistry professional with a degree from the University of Pacific, Anja pursues strategic analytic approaches using data and fresh political perspectives and got her start reviewing prion protein diseases in cattle.
