Alex Biering

Alexandra (Alex) Biering joined the California Farm Bureau in March 2023 as a Director of Policy Advocacy focused on water. She advocates before the California Legislature and state and federal agencies to support and protect the water-related needs and interests of California farmers and ranchers. Previously, she was the government affairs and communications manager for the Friant Water Authority and a supervising water resources planner and public affairs specialist for MWH Global (now Stantec). She began her career in the Schwarzenegger Administration, first in the Governor’s Office and then in the Office of the Secretary for Resources. Alex is president of the California Irrigation Institute and has previously served on the ACWA Board of Directors and as a chair and vice-chair of its Agriculture Committee. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of San Francisco and a Master of Public Policy Degree from Duke University.
